We are planning on visiting WDW in October of this year and I was wondering with the basic park passes if you can go to one park in the morning and then back to your resort for a little break and then go back to the same park later in the day?

How exciting to be visiting the Walt Disney World Resort in October! With a base ticket, you can absolutely leave the park and then return to that same park later that same day. You do not need to add the Park Hopper Option to your theme park tickets in order to do so.
