Hi, planning on visiting WDW in Oct.2010 was wondering which resort was better, Bay Lake Tower or Kidani Village @ animal lodge? I am traveling with 6. 2 adults and 4 kids. Ages 1,3,4,6. Thank you for your advice. I love this panel.

I stayed at the Kidani Village in September 2009 and at the Bay Lake Tower in January 2010, so my experience with both is fresh. Both of these resorts are great, but with your family configuration, I 100% percent vote for the BLT. Here's why:

    - Transportation - Kidani Village is FAR away from everything. It's a ten minute walk even to get to the main AKL building. You have to take a bus to get to all four theme parks. (I vowed that I would only ever stay at Kidani again if I had a car). Compare this with BLT that is a five minute walk or monorail ride away from the Magic Kingdom and one monorail transfer away from Epcot. This means that you can get to two of the theme parks without folding your strollers. This is HUGE.

    - Dining options - There is only one restaurant in the Kidani building, Sanaa, which serves primarily Indian-style dishes. I quite like this restaurant, but it may not be the best choice for small children. At the BLT you have easy access to all the counter and table service options on the monorail line. These restaurants include the character meals at Chef Mickey's, Ohana, and 1900 Park Fare - big hits with kids.

    - Comfort - Both these resorts are new and are in excellent shape. However, I have to say that the bed at Bay Lake was the most comfortable one I've slept on in five years. I'm currently trying to convince my husband that we should purchase the BLT mattress.

The only two possible arguments in favor of Kidani would be the animals and the pool. I have stayed a savannah view rooms at AKL. Truly, it is amazing to wake up in the morning and see a giraffe grazing outside your window. However, the BLT has great view too, and you can certainly see the animals at AKL if you visit the Lodge or dine at one of the restaurants there. Second, the Kidani pool does have an exceptionally nice water play area for small kids. However, neither of these things are nearly enough to outweigh the enormous location advantage you would have at BLT.
