We were planning on visiting DDW 10/21/11-10/30/11, because the kids would only have to miss 2 days of school. It looks like we could save us about $1250 if we change the dates to 08/19/11-08/28/11. What are the disadvantages of doing this? Regrets?

Hi Betty! Tough call, but you can be happy in knowing that any time is a good time to visit Disney World! Dates are usually my first priority, and then budget. Those savings are certainly hard to overlook! We have gone at the end of August for the past several years and love it. But be forewarned - the weather is hot! For your October dates, the weather will be lovely, and less hot and humid, which is nice. During October, you can also go to Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, my favourite event!

I hope this helps and rest assured, no regrets with either date!
