Bright Suns James, and thanks for bringing your question to planDisney. Before you know it, you’ll be dodging stormtroopers and sipping
blue milk in
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge!
There’s no longer a service to send purchases back to your Resort hotel, but Hakuna Matata! Here are some other options for keeping your precious cargo safe while you enjoy the rest of your day at
Hollywood Studios.
First I would check with Oscar’s Super Service. This is the gas station-themed storefront that rents strollers and wheelchairs at the front of the park. In the past, they’d sometimes store droids and lightsabers for a small fee. If they’re not offering that service when you’re there, you can
rent a locker at Hollywood Studios that fits droids (unfortunately, the lockers are too small for a lightsaber). But the good news is, you can bring your lightsaber on most rides in the park. And they come with a padded bag that makes it easy to carry around while being well protected. On attractions where you can’t bring your lightsaber, Cast Members will be happy to hold onto it for you. For instance, at
Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster, you can head to the gift shop to drop off your lightsaber. A Cast Member will give you a ticket to pick it back up after the ride.
Before leaving your droid for the day, be sure to give your new buddy a tour of Batuu. When you explore the planet, droids will react to different areas as you walk around. There’s also a spot outside
Droid Depot where you can take your pal for a spin. You’ll see a Cast Member standing by an area with a large mat on the floor.
Also, keep an eye out for
PhotoPass photographers in Batuu to get lots of pictures with your droid and lightsaber. It's a great way to commemorate your special day and they also have fun
Magic Shots that add a bit of extra pixie dust to your pictures. If you'd like to book a dedicated 20-minute photo session, check out
Capture Your Moment.
One last recommendation before you travel to Batuu! Be sure to download the
Play Disney Parks app. When you enter Galaxy's Edge, it’ll transform into the
Star Wars: Datapad, unlocking all sorts of tools to make the most of the planet. You can translate signs in Aurebesh, scan objects to uncover hidden cargo, and decrypt communications. It’s a great way to explore Black Spire Outpost and catch all the details you might otherwise miss.
I hope this helps you plan a day full of adventure on Batuu. Safe travels and may the force be with you!
