I am planning to visit WDW with my autistic son who is 4. He loves Mickey and we wanted to do a character dining experience so he could meet Mickey. Which one would you recommend as my son can become overwhelmed by loud noise and crowds?

    Hi, Rebekah!

Thanks for visiting us here on the Disney Parks Moms Panel. As parents, it is such a thrill to see our children's faces light up when they meet their favorite Disney characters for the first time. Be sure to bring your camera to capture this magical moment in your son's life!

By far the quietest character dining spot where your son can meet Mickey is Chip 'n Dale's Harvest Feast at The Garden Grill restaurant in the Land Pavilion (Future World) at Epcot. I think this would be an ideal dining location for your son. When you arrive at the podium to check in for your reservation, I strongly suggest requesting a booth rather than a table. The semi-circular upholstered booths are more comfortable and afford a more relaxing and private dining experience (which translates to far less stimuli and noise). In addition to the Big Cheese himself, your son will also get to meet Chip 'n Dale and Pluto!

Dinner is served from 4:00 to 8:00 PM; I suggest making an advance reservation to avoid a possibly long wait. You can make reservations online (using the link I provided above) or by calling 407-WDW-DINE (407-939-3463).

The Garden Grill also has a unique feature - the entire restaurant is set on a slowly revolving floor and you'll be able to enjoy views of the diorama-type scenes (farm, rain forest and desert) from the Living with the Land attraction.

Wishing your family a magical vacation, Rebekah! Please write me back if you'd like suggestions on theme park attractions and shows featuring Mickey that your son may enjoy.
