Planning a visit in Oct/Nov this yr with my 8yr old. Any advice on which month is better? Is it better to see it for halloween or all decorated for Christmas? If I were to book now and a deal comes out for our dates can it be applied to my trip?

Hi, Ashley!  I love to visit Walt Disney World during the holidays, but Halloween and Christmas are my two favorites!  Halloween is a bigger Magic Kingdom holiday, and the greatest concentration of autumnal decoration will be found there - especially in conjunction with Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party.  At Christmas, you will find decorations EVERYWHERE!  Themed trees, life sized gingerbread houses, garlands galore - there's barely a hall un-decked!

If you wanted to see Christmas decorations, I'd say the later in November you can go, the better.  The closer it is to Christmas the more festive it is, and you'll be able to enjoy some of the holiday offerings, such as the Candlelight Processional at EPCOT and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party.

Choose the season that best works for your family's schedule.  I haven't been disappointed at either time of the year.

As for adding a deal if one becomes available, what typically happens is that your existing reservation will be cancelled and a new one made to reflect the promotion.  It certainly doesn't hurt now to book a room so you are certain you can get exactly what you want, but you may have to be a little flexible if re-booking to add a promotional package becomes an option.  The sooner you call when a package discount or promotion is released, the better your chances of booking exactly what you want!

    Have a wonderful vacation!
