Hello. Planning a visit to MK with our 15 month old daughter May 12-14. Since the Hall of Presidents and the TTA are closed, do you have any suggestions for a cool, quiet spot to relax in so we don't have to go back to our hotel for a nap?

    Hi Andrea,

Are you doing the countdown dance yet? Your trip is getting so close, I bet you are excited! I can't wait for the Hall of Presidents to re-open and see the new changes, but in the meantime, there are some great choices for a cool retreat from the sun and heat.

One of our favorites is the Carousel of Progress in Tomorrowland. The show is held in a cool, relatively dark theater that slowly revolves during the approximately 20 minute show. We love the story and the music and it is often not very crowded so the Cast Members will many times let you take a few extra trips if you need the extra time for your daughter's nap.

Some other great spots are the Enchanted Tiki Room in Adventureland (this one is a little loud at times in the performance), the Country Bear Jamboree in Frontierland offers a foot stompin country jamboree in time to some banjo playing bears, but if you choose a back row it is not as noisy and a great place to cool off. A hidden gem at Magic Kingdom is on Main Street at the Town Square Exposition Hall. If you enter by Tony's and head back past the camera area you will find a tribute to Walt and some of his greatest animated shorts. There are seats to relax in while you enjoy a continual loop of cartoons and animated clips. This is a great place to escape the crowds, sit and let your daughter catch a cat nap.

Don't forget, there is a great Baby Care Station in all four of the Disney parks. The one at Magic Kingdom is located just off Main Street, around the corner from Casey's and Crystal Palace. This is a great retreat for babies and toddlers with changing tables, rocking chairs and an area for siblings or parents to relax too.

Hope one of these offers the break you are looking for. Wishing you a magical time!
