We're planning a visit late Sep or early Oct '10. It will be our daughter's first visit and is a birthday gift (8th) although we won't be there on her actual birthday. Other than the Boutique, what other suggestions do you have for a great day in MK?

Hi, Gail!  I have gone straight to my resident expert on this for you - my own nine year old daughter.  First, how absolutely wonderful that you are going to experience her first visit to Walt Disney World!  I have such amazing memories of all of my daughters' first visits!

According to my daughter, the ultimate birthday experience would be to try and secure an advanced dining reservation for a meal at Cinderella's Royal Table.  Located inside Cinderella Castle, this is a hard to get reservation, but if you plan early enough, you'll be able to dine and celebrate in the gorgeous dining room.  You can begin booking reservations 180 days before your trip by calling 407-939-3463.

Don't forget to obtain a birthday button at Guest Services.  This will alert everyone that you are celebrating, and she may be the recipient of some extra special birthday wishes.  I also let them know when I am making any dining reservations and my hotel reservation that I am celebrating a birthday, in case there's some extra pixie dust flying around.

My nine year old also says not to miss Pirates of the Caribbean, as Captain Jack Sparrow is by far the coolest human being on the planet. If your daughter is into that as well, check out Captain Jack's Pirate Tutorial.  Check your daily schedule for times for this event.

I hope your daughter has an absolutely magical birthday celebration!
