We are planning a visit in late January or Early February with our kids 5 and 2. We were thinking of staying at the Animal Kingdom resort in a Savannah view room. How chilly is the weather during that time and will the animals be out because of the weather

Hi, Tiffany!  You will find the animals out on the savanna regardless of the chill in the air that you might find in January or February.  There are some animals - just like some people - that don't particularly like the cooler weather, but there is a wide enough variety of animals there that even if an animal decides to find a warm sunny spot away from your viewing pleasure, there will be other animals roaming the savannas for you to enjoy.

Weather at the end of January or early February is usually in the low 70s.  You are likely to encounter nights that are quite cool - perhaps as low as the upper 40s - but if you keep a sweat shirt or jacket handy, you should be just fine in the cooler temperatures.

There are guides at the Animal Kingdom that can give you more information on the animals and their weather preference.  If you don't see an animal you expected to see while you are there, ask one of the guides, and they are usually happy to tell you if a particular animal is a warm weather friend or hiding behind a tree where you can't see him!

    Have a great vacation!
