Hi Cassie!
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. My family actually just returned from our first trip that my son was intrigued by pin trading and he's only 3.5 years old, so I think you'll find it's
practically perfect to engage your 5 year old twins!
Pin trading is a fun way to find an affordable souvenir while also engaging with Cast Members and other Guests across Disneyland Resort. Most Cast Members will walk around with lanyards around their neck with several pins attached. In addition to this, just about every store you walk into in
Disneyland Park and
Disney California Adventure Park will have pin trading boards near the check out for your twins to look through. They can peruse what's available and if they find one that's interesting to them, they can trade a pin they have for the other one. The pins must be authentic Disney pins to be traded so you'll want to check for a ©Disney on the back. I'd recommend starting off with one of the
Pin Trading Starter Packs to kick off their trading! You'll find these are available at many stores inside the parks as well as
World of Disney and
Disney's Pin Traders in the
Downtown Disney District. Some Pin Trader's are on the hunt to complete a specific pin set, but for my family it's always just but a fun activity to find our personal favorite characters.
Please come back and see us real soon if you have any other questions before your trip later this year!
