We are planning to visit Disneyland in August as part of a longer California trip, and we have a specific day in mind for that visit. I was wondering: does the park ever get full and just close up? I want to make sure we will make it in as planned. thanks!

    Hi Sharon!

Thank you for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. My family took a trip last August to The Happiest Place on Earth and I was pleasantly surprised by the manageable crowds during the summer months!

Both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park do have capacities and admittance on any given day is subject to the amount of people present. In my experience though, these capacities are only reached on specific days of the year and otherwise I've never had an issue. For Guests wanting to visit on Christmas Day, New Years Eve or sometimes even the Fourth of July, I would certainly recommend early arrival and not to leave throughout the day. Throughout the month of August though, I don't imagine you'll face any kinds of issues. If you want to plan your date around the crowd calendar, there are plenty of third party resources that I have used in the past. While these aren't posted by Disneyland Resort themselves, I have found them to be fairly accurate in the past. I would recommend a quick internet search for "Disneyland crowd calendar" and you should have a plethora of resources at your finger tips. I usually look at a couple and compare dates to choose our visit.

I hope this helps in planning your upcoming visit! Please come back and let us know if we can help in any other way.
