I am planning to visit Disney World in Sept./Oct. 2009. Are the park hours typically shorter then? Are the Magic Kingdom and Illuminations fireworks shows still shown during that time?

    Hi Sherry,

I love planning a Disney vacation-hope you are having fun. Depending on when you arrive in September and October, you will most likely find that the park hours are shorter than a visit during the peak travel times like the summer or the last two weeks of December. October is one of our favorite months to visit as there is beautiful weather, lower crowds and great special events. Even though we often experience shorter hours, we still have plenty of time to enjoy the parks and we take advantage of Extra Magic Hours to extend our park time.

Although the park schedules are always subject to change, I am pretty confident that you should be able to see Wishes and Illuminations during your stay. Illuminations is shown nightly at Epcot. Wishes schedule changes frequently depending on any special events or hours for Magic Kingdom. Once your vacation approaches, you will be able to visit here to check the times of the fireworks as well as the park hours.

Be sure to look into the dates for the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot and Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom. These are two great events that occur during those months and should be added to your must do list. Hope you have a magical trip!
