    We are planning a visit to Animal Kingdom in May. On the calendar for May 21 it says that the park closes at 5p but that there are special hours from 5p-8p. Do I need to buy a special ticket for the extended hours? I am not staying inside the park.

    I'm looking at the park calendar for May 21, 2009 for the Animal Kingdom HERE, but I'm not seeing the extended hours information that you mention. The operating hours for that date are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. However, if you look at the calendar for the day before, May 20, found HERE, you'll see that the Animal Kingdom does have extended hours from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. That extended time is called Extra Magic Hours. EMH is a benefit that is only available for guests staying at an on-site Disney hotel. There is no extra ticket required, but you must show a Disney resort ID (room key) in order to participate in Extra Magic Hours. Unfortunately, if you're not staying at a Disney hotel, you'll have to leave the park at 5:00.
