We are planning a vacation in mid October with our 5 year old daughter. Is this a good time to travel and when will there be discounts available for that time? I see right now all the discounts are only good until June.

    Hi there Lauren!

I think October is a perfect time to visit Walt Disney World! The heat of the summer should be long gone bringing warm fall days and nights!

One highlight of October is the wonderful Halloween decorations at the Magic Kingdom. The park is all decked out in festive holiday spirit! The Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween parade is one not to be missed. This parade is our family's favorite! The party also includes many costumed guests trick or treating around the parks!

Not only are the parks and weather great in October, but typically the crowds have calmed down a bit and prices are generally lower. Many times there are great discounts offered as well. Discounts are usually released a bit later in the year, so be sure to keep an eye on the Special Offers Page. Another great resource when looking for a discount or money saving idea is MouseSavers.com. This site also has a page on discounts from the recent past - including the dates they became available. Its a great resource if you'd like to do a little more research!

I hope you have a great trip and have fun planning!
