Hello! I am planning a vacation for my family of 7 for 2016. My question is are there any exceptions for a 5th child over the age of 3 (making the total 7 people in a 6 person suite or cabin)? Or are connecting rooms our best bet? Thanks!

    Hi Shannon!

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with a question about accommodations for a large family.   I have a family of 5 and we often bring along friends, or grandparents when we visit the Most Magical Place on Earth so I can understand your need for space.   Unfortunately, the Family Suites are limited to 6 Guests plus one infant under the age of 3.  This occupancy limit is for safety and fire code reasons.   I do have a couple of suggestions to help make your trip fabulous.

I am traveling with 7 people in November, and the most cost effective way we found to book is to reserve 2 separate rooms at a value Resort, such as Disney's Pop Century Resort.   When we booked the rooms we asked that if possible they have a connecting door.   Disney can not guarantee they will be connecting, but they will try their best to fulfill all requests.   Another option would be to book a 2 bedroom villa at one of the Disney Vacation Club Resorts such as Disney's Old Key West Resort, or Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa.  These rooms may be a little higher in price, but your whole family would be in one villa, and you would have the added bonus of a full kitchen and a washer and dryer.

I hope you are able to find the perfect accommodations for your families upcoming vacation.  If you have any other questions please stop by again.  We love to lend a helping hand whenever we have the chance.

    Have a Magical Day,

    ~Jen
