Planning our 7 TS dinner reservations. Would like Ohana's but have DD with severe peanut allergy, so I am nervous. Other suggestions or stick with Ohana's? Staying @ POFQ - planning Chef Mickey's, Akershus, Chef de France, Mama Melrose. No buffet pls!

Hi Tara! Walt Disney World is very accommodating of guests with food allergies, and the chefs at 'Ohana could make sure that your family's meal is free of peanuts. However, peanut sauce is a popular condiment at the restaurant and it will be present on most of the other tables there. There's also a good chance that the children participating in limbo, coconut races and other activities around the restaurant could have traces on their hands. For these reasons, if your daughter's allergy is especially severe, I could understand your concern about dining at 'Ohana.

Walt Disney World has lots of other fantastic restaurants. Have you considered the new Be Our Guest restaurant? Reservations can be hard to come by, so book early, and you may even run into the Beast after dinner. Whispering Canyon Cafe can be just as fun as 'Ohana with zany servers and stick pony races around the restaurant. While dinner at the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater is not gourmet cuisine, my kids love sitting in the cars and watching campy old movies while the servers whiz by on roller skates and the sandwiches are really tasty. Via Napoli is great for pizza, and the giant aquariums at Coral Reef offer gorgeous views of aquatic life during dinner. The Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue is a rollicking' good time with a tasty all-you-care-to eat family-style meal.

Be sure to note your daughter's allergy on your dining reservations and mention it to the server when you arrive at each restaurant. Check out the Special Dietary Requests page of the Disney website for more information.

Wishing you a magical vacation! Come visit us again at the Moms Panel if you have more questions! We're happy to help!
