We are planning a trip the week before Thanksgiving. Is it overly Christmasy that time of year? Some decorations are fine, but we want to experience Disney in all its glory, not celebrate Christmas every second of every day during our vacation.

    Hi Patricia,

During this week, the Walt Disney World Resorts are preparing for the holidays. There is so many areas to decorate it all can not be done the week of Thanksgiving.

In general, the second week of November starts the decorating at the resorts and all parks. This means added decorations. Magic Kingdom is the last park to change over. It changes over the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and is ready for the holidays last.

It is Thanksgiving morning that all the decorations are finished and cast members dress in special holiday costumes. It truly is magical.

I think you will be okay and you may even be able to angle your shots to miss the holiday decorations.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
