I am planning a trip to WDW for my wife and 2 yr old. We plan on doing a bunch of character buffets, but also a few sit down meals on the dining plan. Will we have to pay for a meal for my 2 yo or will they provide him with a meal at the sit down places?

    Hi Daniel!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  It sounds like you are planning a wonderful vacation for your family.  I hope you have an amazing trip filled with memories that will last a lifetime.

Since your son is under the age of 3 he is considered a guest of Mickey Mouse and will be able to enter the Theme Park for free.   Likewise if he visits a restaurant with you he can eat off an adult plate for free.  At buffet meals you can simply make him his own small plate while at sit down meals you would have to share the food from your plate with him.   You certainly can order him an item off of the children's menu but you would need to pay out of pocket for it.   When my kids were little I found that the portion sizes were very large and my husband and I could easily share with our little ones.   I hope you enjoy your Character Dining, it is a memory you won't want to miss.

If you have any other questions about Disney Dining or any other aspect of your vacation, please send them our way.  It's always a pleasure to help out a fellow Guest.
