We are planning our 2nd trip to WDW and stayed at the GF in Nov and absolutely loved it! This time we "think" we would like to try somewhere different. What is your opinion about the Boardwalk, Wild. Resort, and the Poly? Our DD will be 2 1/2.

Hi Kristal! I can tell you've caught the Disney bug -- one of the symptoms is starting to plan a second trip right after you get home from the first one! I love the Grand Floridian too, and I have to tell you, there have been times when I've stayed at another resort and gazed longingly at the GF wishing I was staying there again. It's so luxurious!

The Polynesian has great restaurants, and the fun Volcano pool. When my kids were the age of your daughter, they loved staying in a first floor room and visiting with the friendly ducks on our patio. As you discovered on your last trip, staying on the monorail route is so convenient when you have a little one. However, since you just stayed "next door" at the GF, you might like to try a different area. Since you loved the GF, you'd love the luxury of the Boardwalk and it would give you a different section of Disney to explore. My husband and I love Epcot, so we really enjoy staying in that area and walking to the park. But, since your daughter is so young, I bet you'll be spending most of your park time at the Magic Kingdom, and the BW might not be the most convenient resort for you.

I consulted with the other luxury-loving Moms Panelist Kathie on your question. She is a big fan of the Wilderness Lodge, and we think if you want to try a different resort but still stay close to the Magic Kingdom, you'd enjoy the WL. It definitely has a more rustic feel than the GF, but it has a lot of the same things you enjoyed there, such as proximity to the Magic Kingdom and being able to watch the Electrical Water Pageant and Wishes from the beach. Consider staying on the club level; the price is reasonable compared to GF. Your daughter would probably enjoy taking the boat to and from the Magic Kingdom. You could also walk or take the boat to Ft Wilderness so she could see the animals or go on a pony ride. And, an added perk is that it is considerably less expensive than the GF, so you can start planning your third trip as soon as you get back!
