Planning a trip to WDW for Sept 2014. We have 3 kids under 10. On a tight budget. Can we make this trip for $2500 or less? If so, what are any and all recommendations?

    Hi Brandy,

It is going to be tight to have a vacation at the Walt Disney World Resort at that price for five people. However, September is a great month to go as rates are at some of the lowest of the season.

If you can get free dining, it will be close. You will need to stay in a room for five people and the cheapest resort I could find would be Port Orleans Riverside which is a great location and one of my favorite resorts. This resort has two queen sized beds and a pull down bunk.

You can also save money by purchasing just the base park ticket and skipping the Park Hopper option and other extras like the water parks.

Also, Friday and Saturdays are the most expensive days to stay at a hotel so if you can avoid one or both of these days, you can save money as well.

You do not mention how old your children are so if one can sleep in a pack and play crib, you could go to a smaller room at the All Star Resorts or Pop Century Resort. You also would not need a park ticket for him or her.

You could also stay offsite but then you would need to figure in the price of a car rental to and from the airport and the parks.

I would also visit Mousesavers.com to look at other money saving tips and search our site as well.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
