I am planning a trip to WDW in October 2012 for my son's 3rd birthday. I have never been to WDW so I need LOTS of help, my question right now is where to stay. I would love to stay at the new Animation Hotel but it isn't available in Oct. suggestions?

    Heather,

I am here to serve! Let's start with your resort question.

So in the Value category you do have the new Art of Animation resort that is opening in stages throughout 2012. But if it is showing up as full during your vacation time, then I would go next to Pop Century. It is adjacent to the Art of Animation resort, and it has always been my favorite of all the resorts in that category.

However, if it was the family suites that appealed to you, then consider the All-Star Music resort, where they conceived these great accomodations.

Oh, and if you are not already doing it, I would recommend using a Disney authorized travel agent. They can help you monitor what specials become available, and maybe even if openings make themselves available at the Art of Animation resort. Make sure they are a no-fee agency, like MouseFan Travel, and then you don't have to pay a single dime more than if you were booking it yourself!

That is question 1. What should we chat about next? Write me directly and we can start working on other elements of your trip, like dining, park touring plans, etc.

    Have a magical vacation!
