Planning a trip to WDW in June. Want to have some down time at the pool. Debating between the Beach Club and Yacht Club. Trvling w/9yr girl, 6yr boy. Is one closer to Epcot? Which one is better for kids on dining?

    Hi Lesa,

Well this should be an easy one as the Yacht and Beach Club are actually two resorts that sit next to each other. The two resorts share the same amazing pool, Stormalong Bay and are both within walking distance to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Technically Beach Club is closer to Epcot as it is the first resort you will come to when walking along the path from Epcot. You will need to pass the entire length of the Beach Club to arrive at the Yacht Club but it is just a few minutes further from Epcot. There is a boat dock that will provide transportation to both Hollywood Studios and Epcot if you do not want to walk, and the dock is closer to the Yacht Club.

Dining locations are again easily accessible no matter which location you stay at. The Beach Club offers Cape May Cafe which is a character dining breakfast in the mornings and an all you can eat clam bake buffet in the evenings. Beaches & Cream is an old fashioned ice cream shop, serving a small selection of sandwiches, directly across from the pool. You will need to go outside and walk to Beaches & Cream from either hotel. Yacht Club is home to the Yachtsman Steakhouse and the Captains Grille. The dining information is listed together for these two resorts since they sit together.

Personally we prefer the Beach Club over the Yacht Club, but only because it seems to be a little more relaxed and home to more families with kids like our rowdy group. We also love that the Beach Club is a slightly shorter walk to the neighboring Boardwalk resort, which we love to visit in the evenings for all its activites and free entertainment. Either choice, you can't go wrong and I am confident you will love both!
