We were planning our trip to WDW the first week of June, but have just learned that it is the location for the annual pride celebration. What is your experience with this event? Should we schedule our trip (family of 5) for another time? Pls advise.

    Hi Deb,

The Annual Pride Event celebration is a non-Disney sponsored event that is scheduled to take place June 4-June 7 of this year. The event takes place at a number of local Orlando locations as well as visits to a Disney Park of the day.

Our family has visited Disney World numerous times during this very event as it always falls around my and my son's birthdays and the start of our school break, which makes it a perfect time to travel for us. We have never been bothered by the attendees or the events and have enjoyed our trips enough that we continue to book during this same week year after year. We have had no concerns over the event or its participants and feel no reason to alter our travel dates because of the convention. If you would like to avoid the larger crowds that often occur at the Disney park of the day, you can find a calendar of which park is scheduled for which day at www.gaydays.com

I think you will still have a great time and would keep counting down those days until you leave. Enjoy!
