We are planning a trip to WDW in February or March of 2013. There will be 2 children (5 and 3) and 2 couples. We are looking to stay in a WDW resort hotel with a kitchen. Any recommendations? - it is a first visit for the children.

    Hi Thomas,

Your choices with a full kitchen include the cabins at Fort Wilderness and the one, two, and three bedroom villas at the Disney Vacation Club resorts. The DVC resorts are: Bay Lake Tower at the Contemporary, Wilderness Lodge, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Old Key West, Saratoga Springs, Beach Club, and Boardwalk.

For your party, I would recommend a two-bedroom villa. These rooms include one bedroom with a king-sized bed, a second bedroom with either two queen-sized beds or a queen bed and a a queen pull-out couch, plus a living room with a pull-out couch. Depending on your resort, there will be either two or three full bathrooms, along with a full kitchen and a washer/dryer. They're really like having your own apartment right in the middle of Walt Disney World.

My family has stayed at two-bedroom villas many times. Our personal favorite is the Beach Club villas. We love the easy walking access to Epcot, the charming boat ride to Disney's Hollywood Studios, and the INCREDIBLE pool complex there.

With younger children, another good choice is Bay Lake Tower. This resort is walking distance from the Magic Kingdom and also has MK monorail access. If you'll be spending most of your time at the Magic Kingdom, this is incredibly convenient.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know if you have additional questions.
