Am planning a trip to WDW for family of 5. ages 9, 7, and 5. Either June or Aug which month would be better? and which Moderate or value resort? Also thinking about meal plan. your thoughts? Thanks very much!!

Hi, Cindy!  June is going to be slightly less hot and humid, although by no means cool.  If you go early in June, you might miss some of the summer crowds.  August is going to be quite hot and humid, but towards the end of the month, the crowds seem to thin out a bit and make getting through the parks easier.  I seem to be able to accomplish more in a day in late August, so even though it's very hot and humid, I still get more done in less time.

Whether or not you choose a moderate or value is going to depend on your budget, but also the number of people in your family.  As a family of five, I know all too well the room limit of four guests at most of the resorts.  Your options in a value resort are going to be limited to a family suite at the All Star Music Resort - which I think is a great option; or you would need two rooms to accommodate your family.  At a moderate resort, you can request a room with a trundle bed at Port Orleans Riverside, which will allow you to just book one room for a family this size.

A little word on the All Star Family Suites - I loved them.  There are two full bathrooms, which is a great time saver; a separate bedroom for mom and dad; two televisions - one in the bedroom, one in the living room; plus three fold out options for the children.  You also get a microwave and small refrigerator!

The Disney Dining Plan is a great way to budget for meals and snacks.  I think if you have a family of good eaters, it's a great way to plan for your expenses during your vacation!
