Hi there, Jonathan! Welcome to planDisney. We're so glad you stopped by!
Jonathan, I love
Walt Disney World Resort and I love the excitement of the new year. But being at The Most Magical Place on Earth
on New Year's Eve? Now that's the dream! There's no better way to ring in the new year and I couldn't be more excited for you. Not only that, but I'm happy to let you know that there may be some special events in your future!
While we don't have details on
New Year's Eve celebrations at Walt Disney World Resort quite yet, I can tell you that
Magic Kingdom Park and
EPCOT have traditionally both held special nighttime spectaculars, making them the two most popular parks for the new year. In the past, Magic Kingdom Park has held these nighttime spectaculars on both December 30 and December 31. Because of this, you might want to consider heading to Magic Kingdom Park on December 30 and EPCOT on December 31 if you want to prioritize both of these parks and if the schedule is the same for this year. Also,
Disney's Hollywood Studios has had a countdown moment into the new year, and all three of these parks offered dance parties throughout the park. You can expect to hear more detailed plans for New Year's Eve closer to the date (sometimes even about a week out!). I'd suggest keeping an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog, which is a great resource to stay up-to-date on all the exciting news and announcements for your upcoming trip!
Since the parks will be busy with excitement and anticipation (oh – and Guests!), my best tip would be to arrive early in the morning, take a midday break or nap, and stay late at night. This way, you can more effectively manage the crowds and make sure that you're well-rested for all of the evening festivities! Also, I would recommend that you make your
theme park reservations with the Disney Park Pass system at your earliest convenience since popular dates could get booked in advance – especially for the holidays! This is an important step to visit your desired parks on each day of your trip (
until January 9, 2024).
I hope I was able to point you in the right direction today, Jonathan! If you have any other questions, please write to us again. We're happy to help!
You've got a friend in me,
Michelle
