    i am planning a trip to walt disney world for the first time. i have never been there and neither has my mom or my children. i plan to to come in feb 2010 on winter break. can you tell me what is the best hotel and what i expect around peak season.

    Barbara,

    There are a lot of great resort hotels here. Rather than pick just one, I will tell you about some of your choices. Disney resorts fall into several groups. The main three are Deluxe, Moderate, and Value. Each level has it's own special kind of magic, and the groups of resorts offer different price ranges for different budgets. There are also campgrounds, cabins, and multi-room villas. Really, there is an amazing range of choices.

    I have my preferences, but I would need more information before I could recommend a specific one. What age kids are coming along? What kind of activities do you want to enjoy? Which budget category seems to match your needs?

    Here are my personal favorites;

    Deluxe Resorts
    With small children: Wilderness Lodge or Polynesian
    With no small children: Yacht Club or Beach Club

    Moderate Resort
    With small children: Port Orleans Riverside
    With no small children: Port Orleans French Quarter

    Value Resort
    With small children: All Star Movies
    With no small children: Pop Century

    Feel free to send me a question directly from my bio page with more information about your group and interests. I can refine my suggestions from there!

    Have a magical vacation!
