We are planning a trip this Sept to WDW. Renting a Villa and will be renting a scooter locally for Mother. When parking, will we be able to drop her and scooter off closer to entrance as we will be riding the tram from the parking lot?

Hello Jenny!  (Great name by the way.)

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  I am so happy to help answer your question about using Electric Conveyance Vehicles or scooters at Walt Disney World Resort.   We want your mother to have the easiest vacation possible while using an ECV.

You certainly can let the parking attendant know that you will be dropping someone off with a scooter and would like to get them close to the entrance.  The Cast Member will guide you as to where to drop her off.   Once you do that you are welcome to park and meet her at the entrance.  If you have a handicapped sticker for your vehicle you would be able to use the handicap parking spaces which are very close to the entrance and you would not have to drop off.
Jenny, I want you to keep in mind that the drop off for Magic Kingdom is at the Transportation and Ticket Center.  From there you will need to board either the Ferry or Monorail to get to the theme park.   Both of these forms of transportation do allow for scooters or ECV's to be brought on board.

Jenny, I don't know if you are staying at a Disney Deluxe Villa or an off site villa.   If you are on site, all Disney buses do have the ability to transport an ECV for Guests.   The Disney buses would drop off the closest to the theme park entrances at each location you visit.

I hope this has helped.  If you have any other questions please don't hesitate to ask.  We are always ready to lend a helping hand.

    Dream as Dreamers Do,

    Jen
