Hello, Donna! Welcome to planDisney. My husband and I have been casually shopping for electric vehicles for a while and rented one for a recent trip to Walt Disney World Resort for a real test drive. We were staying at Disney's Riviera Resort, which has two spaces with charging available. Currently, only a few Disney Resorts Collection hotels have EV charging stations, including Riviera, Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, and Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. With Disney's demonstrated commitment to environmental sustainability, hopefully, we will see these charging stations become available in more resorts soon.If you are planning to use your car for transportation to the theme parks, there are charging stations in the parking lots. As a Guest staying at Disney's Old Key West Resort, you have complimentary access to theme park parking lots and might find this to be a convenient option.
When you get to the entry points for parking, ask a Cast Member about the charging stations and how to get to them. My friend Candace shared a great tip with another Guest asking about EV stations: the Cast Member might be able to radio ahead to find out if the charging stations are available. The EV chargers use ChargePoint. My husband downloaded the app before we headed to Walt Disney World and could manage everything from his phone easily. The rates are set by ChargePoint and you can see them on the app. When our car was charged, we moved it to a regular parking spot. We are huge fans of Disney Resort Transportation, so once the car was at full charge, we left the driving to Disney. But when the sad day came to head north on the interstate, the car was charged and ready to go (even if we weren't).If you have any other questions, please breeze back by planDisney. We're all ears!Adventure is Out There!Jana
