We are planning our trip for Sept 2020 and have been informed due to the 50th anniversry there is alot of construction. We are staying at Port Orleans Riverside and have passes for 5days. Is this correct and what should we expect?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Melissa! Walt Disney once said, "Progress is impossible without change." There are lots of magical projects in the works for the 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort, but I can understand how this would make you feel anxious, not knowing how they might impact your trip. Let's discuss what you should expect and what you can look forward to experiencing!

The D23 Expo is the ultimate event for any Disney fan, and lots of exciting announcements were made recently about the future of the Disney Parks and Resorts. By far, the Park with the most significant news was Epcot, and the Imagineers are calling this a "Historic Transformation." Construction is already underway in the Future World section and in Epcot's entrance plaza, and you may notice this when you visit. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in the former Universe of Energy Pavillion is also slated for a 2021 unveiling, but this construction is mostly inside, so it's hardly visible. What you will get to see, is the highly anticipated Remy's Ratatouille Adventure, set to open in summer 2020! By the time of your vacation, the new restaurant, Space 220, will also be operational and will have views that are out of this world!  You might even get to catch the debut of Epcot's new "HarmonioUS," which is being billed as the "largest nighttime spectacular ever created for a Disney park!"

Tron is on its way to Magic Kingdom Park, and I couldn't be more excited! The Tron Lightcycle Run Rollercoaster is another big project arriving in 2021, and I was able to see the steel coaster's progress when I rode the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover recently. The construction is confined to an area tucked away in Tomorrowland, and it doesn't interfere with guests' enjoyment of the Park.

Most of the projects in Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park and Disney's Hollywood Studios will be complete by the time of your travels. You will feel like you've been transported when you visit the immersive lands of Pandora – The World of Avatar and Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge! And don't forget that transportation to these two Parks is about to get a whole lot easier (and more fun) with the advent of the Disney Skyliner next week!

I know you're going to have a magical vacation in 2020, Melissa! Please visit us again if there's anything else you need help with. See ya' real soon!
