I am planning 2nd trip to Port Orleans Riverside. We recently stayed in the Bayou, but would really like to stay in Magnolia this time. What can I do to help my chances? If I choose River view or preferred will that help. I know no guarantees Thanks !!

Hello there, Kerry! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thanks so much for taking the time to stop back by and ask your wonderful Walt Disney World Resort vacation question!

Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside is my all-time favorite Disney Resort hotel in the Moderate Category! As someone born and raised in the South, I adore the lush foliage and gorgeously grand architecture found throughout this resort. It really does feel as though you've been transported to the rural reaches of Louisiana whenever you stay here!

My family and I also prefer the elegant mansions found in the Magnolia Bend section of Disney's Port Orleans Resort -Riverside! In my experience, the Room Category has little impact on which section of the resort you are placed in. The only caveat to this would be if you book one of the Royal Guest Rooms as all of these are located in the Magnolia Bend section.

Generally, my family and I tend to specifically request a room in the Magnolia Bend section during our stays! We do this by calling the Disney Resort Hotel Reservations phone line a few weeks prior to our arrival. Then, a few days before we arrive, we call the resort directly and verify that our request is on file. This assists us in securing our desired room fairly often. Also, if you check-in and do not receive a room in the section you requested, you can also stop by the front desk and see if they have the availability to switch you into a different room. Of course, specific rooms are never guaranteed but it never hurts to ask!

I hope this information assists you in snagging the perfect room during your visit to Walt Disney World Resort!
