Planning a trip for 5 but want my own room for 2 of us. I was thinking of getting 2 studio rooms at polynesian. I heard that there are a lot of connecting studios there. Wonder how likely I will get that? Sept 2021 will monorail station be operational?

    Welcome Home, Jan!

One of the many reasons we became Disney Vacation Club Members was that we knew we would enjoy our vacations more with the additional space and separate sleeping areas that the villas offer. I think your plan of booking two Deluxe Studios at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows is a good one. The majority of Deluxe Studio Villas at this resort do connect with another Deluxe Studio, so the chances of getting connecting rooms are quite good! Of course, it is still only a request, and while Cast Members will do their very best, it cannot be guaranteed. Be sure that you have spoken with Member Services and that it is noted on both reservations that you are a group traveling together and that you are requesting connecting rooms.

At this time, the Monorail station at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is still closed for renovation and is tentatively scheduled to reopen in summer 2021. There has been no information at this point if that means early summer or late summer, so I am sorry to say I don't have an exact answer for your September visit. I have been lucky enough to stay at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows twice, and while the Monorail Station is currently closed, the location of this resort allows for a fairly simple workaround! There is a quick and easy walking path from the resort to the Transportation and Ticket Center. From there, you would be able to hop the Monorail or the Ferry to the Magic Kingdom. There is also watercraft transportation directly from the resort to the Magic Kingdom. Currently, the Monorail line to Epcot is also not operating and a reopening date has not been announced. Bus transportation is available from the resort to the other theme parks. I would keep an eye on the Disney Vacation Club Website and Disney Parks Blog for the latest announcements. Even with limited Monorail service, I still think you’ll have a magical and memorable visit to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. Make sure to leave time for a visit to the Pineapple Lanai for a Dole Whip Float!

    Wishing you Membership Magic!
