We are planning a trip in October we have 8 people coming 6 adults 2 kids 6 and 12. I was thinking of getting 2 rooms at the value resort. Is that the best or would a suite be a better option and value for us. We would need a frig.

With an All Star Music Family Suite, you will have a room that will accommodate six people, but it will give you two bathrooms, a small refrigerator, and a microwave, which is really nice to have, especially in the morning if you want to grab breakfast before you head out for the day.  You will need a second room to accommodate the rest of your party, but you can put in a request that the rooms be in the same area, and you can all get together in the suite for breakfast or in the evening.  Another advantage to this arrangement is that the suite has a separate bedroom, where you could put the kids so the adults have the living room to relax in when you get back in the evening.

Another option - although more expensive - would be a villa at one of the Disney Vacation Club resorts.  Some of them do accommodate a party of your size, and they give you a full kitchen with a full sized refrigerator, oven, microwave, and dishwasher; plus you get a washer and dryer.  It gives you a lot more room to spread out, and you can really save a bit by cooking some meals and storing snacks and drinks in the fridge.

You alternately can book two regular rooms in a value resort, and just pay to have the refrigerator in the room.  The cost of the refrigerator is $10 per day in a value resort.

    Have a great vacation!
