Planning a trip for this November (hopefully when parts of new Fantasy Land are complete) and driving our car. We have looked into the cabins at FW and renting DVC points for a 1br villa at WL. Does one outweigh the other as far as convenience? DD2 and DD7

Hi Kelly! Location-wise, Fort Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge are beside each other. You can take a bus or boat between them, or there's a lovely walking trail. Atmosphere is a different story. Both are gorgeous and rustic, but the cabins are set in the campground as opposed to a resort. I grew up camping at Fort Wilderness, and absolutely love it there. The cabins have all the amenities of a resort, including fully stocked kitchen, living area and deck complete with barbeque, surrounded by the beauty of nature. Both have great pools, activities and tons to do, and both are a convenient boat ride to the Magic Kingdom, which is very handy!

If you want the convenience of popping down to the lobby, then you'd probably prefer the Wilderness Lodge.

Hope this helps in your decision Kelly! You'll be pleased whichever you choose!
