We are planning a trip for next year with our 10 year old and wanted to wait until he got out of school. We were looking at June 1-9. ISome schools around the country will still be in session at this time. Would the weather ad crowds be similiar in Aug?

    Hi Carrie!

Having experienced the Disney parks in both early June and late August, I will say that both time frames are even with respect to crowds.  Early June would probably be a better time for you are your family, because, as you stated, many schools around the country are finishing up their school year, meaning slightly (and I stress slightly) less crowds.  You need to take into account that the Florida schools have finished their school year, so there are more local residents visiting the theme parks.  The weather for this time is relatively nice, peaking at 85 degrees during the day, and a nice 70 degree evening.

If you are considering August, I would recommend late August.  Florida schools are back in session, many students have returned home in prep for the school year, and the crowds have always been historically lighter.  Also, many special offers, including the very popular free dining promo, are offered during this time frame to boost reservations.  Weather for this time period is relatively hot, reaching 93 degrees during the day and 75-80 at night.

Hope this helps you plan your magical vacation!
