Planning a trip next year for my 5 year old granddaughter, what would be a better month October or November? Staying at Pop Century or Princess room at Port Orleans could you recommend a room location for both resorts for transportation and food court.

Hi there, Linda! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and submit another excellent Walt Disney World Resort question!

Both October and November are among my favorite months to visit  Walt Disney World Resort! Honestly, I don’t think there is a “better” month to visit, instead, I would suggest thinking about which events would be more interesting for you and your granddaughter.

In October, there will be more spooky celebrations for the Halloween season. The top special event taking place in October is Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom. Alternatively, November will likely involve more winter holiday decorations and events. The main event during this month will be Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom. Both special events are an incredible way to experience Magic Kingdom all dressed up for the season so I would recommend choosing a month based on which holiday event interests you more!

For the second part of your question, the Royal Guest Rooms at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort - Riverside are all actually only a short walk from the Riverside Mill Food Court. You’ll simply cross the bridge over the Sassagoula River and head into the main Sassagoula Steamboat Company building. If you make reservations at Disney’s Pop Century Resort, I would recommend requesting a room in the ‘60s building. This is the building directly behind Classic Hall so it will be the closest to all of the shopping and dining options!
