Hi Brandy!
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. The family suites at
Disney's Art of Animation are themed so fun for little ones, so I'm sorry to hear this isn't going to work for your family, but I'm glad to tell you I think you have a couple other great options!
I'd recommend looking into potentially doing two rooms at one of the Walt Disney World Resort Value hotels. While they cannot guarantee it, you can request to have connecting rooms and the Cast Member that checks you in will try their best to accommodate your request. I'd call and make sure it's listed on both reservations prior to arrival as well!
This will include:
This could also be applicable for The Little Mermaid Standard Room at Disney's Art of Animation, but I think you'll find two of these rooms would be similar in price to one of the Deluxe Villas. Depending on the interest of each of the kiddos, I'll think you find something that they will love at one of those resorts.
If you stay at Disney's Pop Century Resort I have to recommend you check out the Tie-dyed Cheesecake, it's simply divine! Please let me know if you have any other questions.
