Hello Samantha, and to all who come to this happy place, welcome! I'm so glad to see you here at planDisney.
I can't think of a better way to celebrate a diamond birthday than with a trip to Walt Disney World Resort. I've made a tradition of visiting for my own birthday as often as possible, so I already know your mom is in for a truly magical celebration. Best of all, your visit coincides with the tail end of the World's Most Magical Celebration for Walt Disney World Resort's 50th Anniversary! You'll be sure to enjoy the
Beacons of Magic nighttime displays, and the absolutely breathtaking anniversary decor on
Cinderella Castle.
I've been doing a little digging, and while I know the "Kiss Goodnight" did return after pandemic-related disruptions, the schedule may be a little less predictable than in years passed. Previously, this special 2-minute presentation occurred about 30 minutes after Magic Kingdom Park's official closing, with the exception of special ticketed after-hours events. It looks like
Magic Kingdom Park is scheduled to close at 11 p.m. on the evening of February 5, but be sure to keep an eye on the
Hours & Events Calendar for the most up-to-date information.
I'd also recommend visiting
Guest Relations in City Hall when you arrive at Magic Kingdom Park. There, you'll be able to ask about the Kiss Goodnight schedule and even get your mom a complimentary birthday button to wear during your trip!
If you need a little pick-me-up to keep you going while you wait for that magical moment, be sure to visit
Main Street Confectionery. You can even utilize
Mobile Order for your evening sugar rush! If you're looking to really celebrate in style, I'd recommend the
Disney Enchantment After-Party, to enjoy the 50th Anniversary Fireworks from a reserved viewing area and an assortment of delectable dessert and beverage selections after the show. You can even toast the birthday girl with a glass of beer or wine while you dine!
I'm wishing your mom the most memorable and magical birthday. Stop by and visit us again with more planning questions!
A Very Merry Unbirthday to You!
Amy
