Planning a trip for next month and staying off property. Staying for a week and doing 4-day park tickets. If we want to dine in a restaurant in a park on a day that we are not at the park is that allowed? Or, do you have to have park tickets to dine?

Hey there Zoe - welcome to planDisney! Thanks so much for stopping by with your vacation planning question. Dining at Walt Disney World Resort is one of my very favorite topics, and I'm happy to walk you through your options both in the parks and beyond. Tie your napkin 'round your neck, cherie, and we'll provide the rest!

One of the parts of Disney vacation planning that I enjoy most is deciding where we're going to eat during our trip. We have some family favorites that we make sure to visit every trip, but we also like to try somewhere new when we have the chance!  Zoe, for restaurants located within the theme parks, you do need valid park tickets for that day to dine there. I really like to schedule one Table Service meal during park days - it's a perfect break to get off our feet, hydrate, have a relaxed meal, and plan strategy for the rest of the day!

There are so many excellent dining options outside of the parks that you could stay for a month and probably not get to visit them all! Between restaurants at the Walt Disney World Resort Hotels and Disney Springs, you have tons of great choices. Here are some of our favorite non-theme park spots:
    • Sanaa at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village is probably my #1 restaurant on property. There are great Indian-influenced options, and the bread service is legendary!
    • Boma - Flavors of Africa at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge - this is a great buffet with some African-inspired choices available for breakfast and dinner.
    • Beaches & Cream Soda Shop at Disney's Beach Club Resort is a family favorite with standard food like burgers and grilled cheese - be sure to save room for one of their delicious ice cream sundaes!
    • Toledo - Tapas, Steak & Seafood, located at Disney's Riviera Resort. This is a more upscale option and a favorite of my planDisney pal Jenna!
    • Kona Cafe, at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, is open all day - but I'm especially obsessed with their breakfast! The macadamia nut pancakes are hands-down my favorite start to the day.
I hope this information is helpful for your planning purposes, Zoe! Thanks again for visiting planDisney, and don't hesitate to reach out anytime if we can help with other questions.
