Hey there, Heather! Thanks so much for reaching out to planDisney - it's always a great day to chat with one of our magical neighbors to the North! I'm happy to help with your question about booking a stay at
Walt Disney World Resort and offer any advice I can. Let's get right to it!
The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort opened earlier this year, and although I'm admittedly not much of a camper, they just might convert me! The cabins offer all the comforts of home in a beautiful natural setting, just a hop, skip, and jump away from
Magic Kingdom Park. It's a great place to relax after a busy day in the theme parks!
Heather, the Cabins are a Disney Vacation Club (DVC) resort, but all of the DVC properties offer some availability for Guests booking with cash. DVC Members who call the Cabins their Home Resort will be able to reserve starting at 11 months, and I imagine there will start to be some cash stay availability shortly after that time. I understand this makes it difficult to plan far in advance - as a nurse, we almost always have to make our vacation plans months ahead!
I recommend continuing to check as we get into November and that 11-month mark to see what availability there may be for a stay at the Cabins. You can always book an alternative lodging option and modify if a Cabins reservation becomes available. It may be helpful to engage a Certified Disney Travel Planner - these magical folks are experts in Disney vacations, and they can make your reservations and any other plans (think dining reservations, special events, or tours). They operate on commission, so there's no cost for you!
Hopefully, this information is helpful, Heather! Please stop by again anytime if our planDisney crew can assist with any other questions you may have. Thank you for stopping by!
See Ya Real Soon!
Susan
