we are planning a trip mid September and i am wondering if the Mickey's Not so scary halloween party would be worth it for a 10 yr old girl?

Hi, Linda!  My almost 18 year old daughter has been attending Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party nearly every year since she was little, and I asked her if she thought it was worth it for a 10 year old.  She says it is worth it no matter how old you are, and I have to agree!

When you arrive at the Magic Kingdom for the party (by the way, you can arrive as early as four in the afternoon with your party ticket!), they will give everyone in your party a trick or treat bag.  In addition to the lines for the rides and attractions being a bit lighter than a normal day at the Magic Kingdom, you all have the trick or treating to look forward to!  My kids - and my husband - love this part of the party, as they enjoy gathering up treats in an environment where they know I'm not going to make them throw most of the goodies away for safety concerns.

We also really enjoy the Boo To You! parade that takes place only during the party, and the ride of the Headless Horseman is a highlight every year.  And there's something really cool about riding the Haunted Mansion during the Halloween party!

If cost is a concern, we generally skip the theme parks the day we go to the party, and lounge by the pool, have lunch at Downtown Disney, and grab a nap so we can party well into the night!  It's always been worth the expense for us to enjoy the festivities!
