Welcome back, Karrie!
Karrie, if there was a competition for which family was least likely to commit to plans, my family would win every time. So I have a ton of experience with the flexibility of vacation packages.
When you book a
Walt Disney World Resort vacation package, including accommodations in the
Disney Resorts Collection and theme park tickets, you can book with as little as $200 down. The balance of your vacation package will be due 30-days before check-in. Please note that the payment terms are subject to change.
Now, here is my favorite thing about vacation packages, they can be canceled or modified more than 30-days out with no fee. So I would go ahead and make your vacation package for 5 people. Just remember to modify it for the final number in your party before that 30-day deadline.
If the final person decides not to attend, simply go into your
My Disney Experience Account and remove them. You will see the balance due decrease before your eyes.
I am speaking from personal experience when I say it is much easier to remove a member of your party than it is to try and add them to
dining reservations or score them a last-minute
Disney Park Pass system reservation.
If you do not want to book the entire vacation package for all 5 guests, you can go ahead and book your room only. Once you decide how many guests will be joining you, you can purchase your
theme park tickets separately. Just know that your theme park tickets will be non-refundable since they were booked outside of a vacation package.
I hope that this helped, Karrie! Please come back here if we can help you decide where to play, stay, or dine at Walt Disney World Resort.
See you real soon!
