Planning a trip in late April with my husband, son, daughter-in-law and two grandchildren. (ages 5 & almost 3). I had a hard time picking a place to stay but decided on Villas at Wilderness Lodge. Do you think this is age appropriate for the little on

    Hi Marsha,

What a great family vacation you are planning. I bet you are easily "Grandma of the Year" for this.

WIlderness Lodge is a perfect resort choice. Our family are Disney Vacation Club members and the Wilderness Lodge happens to be our home resort. The Lodge has an amazing northern woods feeling from the minute you walk into the towering lobby, with its overstuffed furniture and huge oversized brick fireplace, you will want to cuddle up and relax. The resort has a very homey log cabin feel to it and is nestled amongst a beautiful back drop of towering pines.

There is a fantastic family friendly restaraunt in the lobby, called Whispering Canyon Cafe, home to the mouth watering, bottomless skillet and tons of family fun. The resort offers a number of recreational activities and amenities like a great arcade, health club, bike and boat rental and a great children's program called the Cubs Den. This program is for potty trained kids 4-12 and costs approximately $10 per child per hour. The kids can participate in arts and crafts, play time and meals are served.

On top of all of this, there is an awesome pool play area in the back of the resort. The main pool appears to have been carved right out of a rock and features a whimsical mountainous feel to it. There is a slide, whirlpool, and kiddie play area. Be sure to wander over and take a peak at the Fire Rock Geyser that erupts on the hour throughout the day.

Ask at check-in about being the Family of the Day. Every day a family is chosen to head up to the top of the Lodge to help with the American Flag. My boys have been visiting and enjoying the resort for many years and love exploring the paths, the lobby and much more. It is a perfect family resort and I am sure not only your grand kids, but all of you,  will have an amazing stay!
