Planning a trip for 10/4-10/10 2009! What kind of crowds could we expect then? THis is my 4th trip, other times included week of new years, week of 4th of July, and and around spring break in April or March! How do those times compare to my travel dates?

I think you will be VERY happy with the crowd levels you will experience in early October compared with the times of your previous visits. I was at WDW during that week in 2006 and experience very manageable lines for the attractions. Indeed, if historical patterns hold true, there will be approximately half the number of visitors to WDW in October as you will have found at New Years or the 4th of July. Also, temperatures in Florida will be down a bit compared with July. The only possible pitfall of early October is that it is still considered to be in the window of possible tropical storms. You obviously have to use your own judgement with this, but it's a risk that I personally would be more than willing to take.
