Planning 1st trip in 6-09 with 3 kids, are the meals inside the theme parks very expensive and if so, would it be smarter to reserve a room with a kitchenette? Or would the dining plan be better?

Hi, Melinda!  I travel with three children myself and know how expensive it can be to plan meals.  If you have a family of good eaters, the dining plan is a great way to really budget for your meals.  For my family, it always seems like way too much food, so for us, it's not a good option.

If you can do a room with a kitchenette - like maybe the All Stars Family Suite - it is a great way to save a little time and money.  You can keep some quick breakfast items in your room, which can be a huge savings for a family of five; plus, you can give the kids breakfast as they come out of the shower or while you get ready to start your day.  I also like to keep some cold drinks and snacks in the fridge for when we come back at bedtime or for an afternoon nap.

The meals inside the theme parks do not have to be expensive.  You can find reasonably priced options at all of the theme parks, and there are quite a few places where the meals are big enough to share.  You can plan ahead by checking out the menus and prices at allearsnet.com .
