Planning trip 9/24-28 with DH and kids age 4 & 2 and can't decide between AKL and PR. Is it possible to split stay between both resorts, and would we have to transport luggage ourselves between hotels? Would it take too much time out of day to move

Hi Lucy, MANY Walt Disney World guests split their stay between two resorts. I think every mom on the panel has done this at one time or another. The hotel switch is actually quite easy. Disney will move your bags for you - no problem. On the morning that you're leaving your first hotel, just bring your luggage down to the Bell Services desk. They will tag your bags for transfer, give you a receipt, then you can be on your way off to the theme parks. Later in the afternoon, go directly to your second hotel. Your bags will be there waiting for you. I've never had check-in take more than a few minutes. The one thing to keep in mind is that if you're using the Disney Dining Plan, there are implications if you switch hotels. Your dining plan credits from the first half of your stay will expire and not carry forward into the second half of your stay. As long as you're careful with your planning this shouldn't be a problem, but it does bear mentioning. Good luck with your planning. Please let us know if we can be of additional help.
