Hello, we are planning a trip in June 2016 (2 adults, 1 three yr old), we recently stayed at Port Orleans Riverside and loved it. We have been debating staying at Animal kingdom lodge or returning to POR. What are the positives of both? Thanks.

    Hi there Janae!

How exciting to be planning a Walt Disney World vacation for next June! Having previously stayed several times at both Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside and Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge,  I can honestly say that you are debating between two great resorts with unique theming.

In my opinion, the positives to staying at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside include: a relaxing atmosphere, Southern charm, ferryboat transportation to Disney Springs, fun recreational activities, and being able to take advantage of the amenities at both Riverside and its sister property, Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter. While staying at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, I found the positives to include: being able to see the exotic animals at the resort, excellent dining options, Children's Activity Center (Simba's Cubhouse), fun recreational activities, and the Zahanati Massage & Fitness Center. That being said, I don't think you could go wrong with either resort choice.

I hope this information is helpful in making the best decision for your family. Please don't hesitate to stop by again with any additional questions that you may have. Best wishes for a magical trip, Janae!

    Happy Planning,
    Jodie
