Planning a trip in Jan. 2013. 1st time for my daughter, and celebrating her 9th birthday while there. It has been over a decade since I have been there. Would you recommend POR or Caribbean Beach? Which is better and why?

Hi, Lisa!  These are two quite different resorts, and I don't think one is better than the other.  It really comes down to personal taste.

I like Port Orleans Riverside because I love the Louisiana theming.  The pool is wonderful, and the kids love the boat to Downtown Disney.  My kids would choose Caribbean Beach Resort, because they really enjoy the pool area there.

If we had to choose based on food courts, the kids would pick Caribbean Beach.  I love the Riverside food court, and think the food there goes a little further than what you might expect from a food court, with a pick your own pasta, carving stations, and even a customizable salad.

Caribbean Beach is quite large, and you can wait a bit longer for a bus there, and Riverside has carriage rides around the resort.  See, it really is up to personal choice!

I don't think you can make a mistake with either one, but they are different.  It comes down to what you're looking for in a vacation resort to suit the tastes of your family.

    Happy planning!
