We're planning a trip in Jan 2018 around the WDW Marathon. I'm the spectator, hubby is the competitor! Will we be able to meet him at the finish w/o tickets? I'd rather save park tickets for full days as a family, post race. Thank you!

    Hi Robyn!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Congratulations to your hubby on taking on the challenge and running the Walt Disney World Marathon!

Your husband will have the chance to run through all 4 theme parks at Walt Disney World during his run! There are a handful of spots you can watch him without needing a ticket. At the Magic Kingdom, spectators are able to view their runner without a theme park ticket. This area opens at 5:30 AM and you'll be able to watch him run down Main Street USA towards Cinderella Castle. For the other 3 theme parks, a ticket will be necessary to chEAR him on. At the finish line there is limited viewing area, but you can certainly watch him without a ticket! The finish area will be in the Imagine Lot (parking lot) of Epcot, so you are not inside the gates of any park. Once the race course is released, you may also find a couple other areas you may be able to spot him!

If you would like reserved seating at the finish line or on Main Street USA, you may be interested in purchasing a ChEAR Squad package. This will give you reserved seating at both locations, complimentary beverages, some wonderful Disney swag and reserved restrooms. ChEAR Squad packages usually are available for purchase a couple months prior to the event, so I'd look for those to come out in mid-Fall. This is not at all a necessity, but it is an added luxury if you are interested!

Please let me know if you have any other questions before your trip!
