I am planning a trip with a friend for the fall of 2015. I was wondering: If we can only go for one week, is it possible to see both the Halloween and Christmas decorations? Of is there time in between the two that would make this impossible? Thanks!

    Hi Jane,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Thanks for stopping by with your festive question. For someone who loves the holidays like I do, this sounds like the makings of a dream trip! As soon as Halloween ends, Cast Members begin working their magic to dress up the theme parks for the holidays. If you arrive Halloween weekend (Friday, October 30, 2015 or Saturday, October 31, 2015) you should be able to enjoy some of the holiday decorations before you leave.

One of my favorite videos on the Official YouTube Channel for Disney Parks is Time-Lapse Video: Magic Kingdom Park Decorated for the Holidays, with a behind-the-magic look at how Magic Kingdom Park transitions from Halloween to the holidays. The remarkable transformation is done virtually overnight by a very talented group of Cast Members. It is amazing!

I would suggest bookmarking the Disney Parks Blog and keeping an eye on it for an announcement of the 2015 dates for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Parties and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Parties. This year, the final day for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is October 31 and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party kicks off on November 7. I expect next year's date range to be similar, so you should definitely be able to experience some of the holiday magic during the week between Special Events.

Please let me know if I can help answer any other questions before your next visit to Walt Disney World Resort.

    Have a magical day!
